QUARTZ SYSTEM
In conventional quartz ultraviolet disinfection units, water flows over a sealed quartz sleeve which houses the UV lamp. The outer shell is usually constructed of either stainless steel, anodized aluminum or polyvinyl chloride. Components are exposed to moisture and humidity. Hence short circuits are frequent.
Quartz has proven to be troublesome as it is brittle, fragile and difficult to seal. Moreover, complicated wiper systems must be installed to keep the quartz surfaces free from fouling by substances in the water. In contrast with Good Life UV systems, quartz UV technology requires an increase in both maintenance and operating costs for the consumer.
Fouling of sterilization chamber causes variation in microbial removal. Quartz glass can crack, cannot withstand pressure or change in temperature. Temperature variations reduces the UV output causing inferior quality of sterilization. Frequent cleaning is needed which increases the chances of breaking the fragile quartz.
GOOD - LIFE SYSTEM
In Good Life UV Systems water passes through Teflon Tubes. Teflon Tubes have a Non wetting and Non fouling characteristics. It generally avoids surface fouling by substances contained in the water stream. In rare instances where fouling might occur, a simple high velocity flush or cleaning with a detergent can remove the deposits.
GoodLife's method of flowing water through its TeflonŽ tubes, separate from electrical circuits, enhances system safety. The Good LifeUV system's UV lamps are enclosed but not sealed in the UV chamber.
Water passing through the Good Life tubes is exposed to UV light at a full 360° ensuring maximum kill. The UV lamp is easily replaced without interrupting water flow.
All electrical components are isolated and free from hazards. Safe for continuous operation. The non-toxic TeflonŽ polymer ensures non contamination and uniform microbial removal. TeflonŽ guarantees durability, can withstand pressure or change in temperature.
Thermostatically maintained sterilizing chambers ensure continuous UV output, and highly effective water sterilization. TeflonŽ tubes are self maintaining and do not require frequent cleaning. Needs no extra watching or care. More Retention time. Hence much efficient "Kill Rate".
